360-Degree Video | Proposed Mountain Valley Pipeline Locations in Newport, Virginia

This is an interactive video showcasing proposed locations for the Mountain Valley Pipeline, a natural gas pipeline stretching 300 miles between West Virginia and Virginia. My team and I at Virginia Tech chose to film a specifically marked, "Proposed Pipeline Road," Seven Oaks Road, located in Newport, Virginia.

This road is located next to residential homes and the Village of Newport Community Park, that has a clean, inhabited river flowing through it. All of these locations featured in the video are within marked "Blast Zones" of construction, designated by signs placed on the main road for the Mountain Valley Pipeline.

This footage was shot with six GoPro Hero Blacks, in 4K, on a Freedom 360 Mount. The video was stitched in Kolor’s Autopano Video and edited the footage for color correction and parallax in Autopano Giga.
